CIVITA - Riflessi di una storia
gennaio 2013

It's wonderful
dicembre 2012
danzano su grandi tavoli/carri allegorici colorati ( 5 sensi 5 colori) rispondendo
a precise sollecitazioni emotive.
minuti ma all'infinito.
centralmente rispetto allo spazio espositivo.
basamenti in legno laccato.
- Contributi pre-registrati di giganti danzantii a figura intera.
- n. 1 touchscreen in posizione centrale con comandi sensibili relativi a 12
emozioni.

Floriade 2012 - Venlo
April / October 2012
Raise awareness of Italian excellence, create business opportunities, and innovate: with these objectives, Italy participates for the first time in the Floriade 2012 expo (Venlo, Holland - from April 5th to October 7th), an international horticultural and floricultural festival lasting six months, which hosts two and a half million visitors, with 30 million potential clients. Showcase and heart of an Italian presence is the Italian Pavilion, a wooden eco-friendly structure created by the Autonomous Province of Trento, with the contribution of the National Plants and Flowers Association of Italy and the Ministry for Agricultural Policies. The structure, a space of 400 square meters surrounded by another 500 square meters of greenery, will host major Italian operators in the vegetable, flower, and nursery crops sector, along with a series of events dedicated to: organic farming (a sector in which Italy is among the top 10 in the world, with over 40,000 companies), urban furnishings, alternative energy applied to cultivation, and topics regarding nutrition. Among the highlights of this space is the ?Viaggio in Italia? (Journey in Italy), a multimedia installation that, through panoramic images, will lead visitors on a virtual tour of three of the major attractions of food and wine tourism in our country. A vast area is also reserved for typical regional traditions, thanks to a series of interactive installations that will show visitors the historic, artistic, and gastronomic heritage of the different regions in Italy. Make way also to art, with the final exhibit from the video-photographic contest for kids, "Obiettivo Pianeta Terra? (Objective: Planet Earth), organized by the Government Commissioner for Expos of Yeosu and Venlo 2012. The Italian pavilion will also host ?Confagricoltura? (General Confederation of Italian Agriculture) and the Conferederazione Italiana Agricoltori Farmers (CIA) (Confederation of Italian Farmers), which will present the agritourism networks associated with ?Green Tourism?. Among the initiatives promoted by the CIA there is also an event, organized in collaboration with the association ?Libera?, dedicated to the "Libera Terra" (Free Land) project for the creation of agricultural enterprises with funds confiscated from the mafia.

Yeosu International Expo 2012
May-August 2012
The Italian Pavilion at the Korean Expo in Yeosu was meant to be a showcase of Italian excellence in which to exhibit the great historical tradition of the Mediterranean, the attractiveness of its coastline, the underwater treasures of its immense underwater archaeological heritage, and the latest data in the field of business and science. In other words, a measured synthesis of past and present from which to obtain a comprehensive picture of the Italian system.
Great explorers encounter the New World. An installation dedicated to great navigators who have anticipated and followed in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus. Yet, this is not all. On three 46" interactive monitors you can access images and analytical descriptions regarding the most important geographical discoveries from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
The Ammiragli theater. The stage is a theatrical installation. A projection on a helium display of figures in Renaissance costume who invite visitors to cross the impalpable barrier antecedes the representation. In fact, once past the phantasmal barrier of the helium display, visitors will find themselves in a small room with walls occupied by monitors positioned vertically and framed as if they were paintings with portraits resembling the historical iconographies of C. Colombus, A. Vespucci, and G. Pigafetta. However, these portraits are special portraits. In fact, with a graphic device, the pictorial figures come to life, and each one begins to narrate a significant passage of his journey.
The tradition of the Italian navy. The tour continues with a gallery of three monitors dedicated to merchant and leisure shipbuilding, to the sailing tradition of the naval schools of the Italian Navy, to the suggestive sequences of Olympic regattas, and to the match race of the America's Cup.
Fishing in Italy. A Section dedicated to the fishing industry, with images provided by ?Federmare? and ?Federpesca? (fishing federations) to describe the traditional aspects and the modern management of a strategic economic sector that is, however, of great environmental value.
The agora of the pavilion represents an important junction for the exhibition. Exposed in the central area there will be mysterious artifacts from Nuragic archeology and display cases containing precious pieces in coral and fragments of Roman mosaics.
Protected marine parks. In the exhibition context described, there will be five interactive stations through which visitors can learn more about the protected marine areas through images and explanatory text.
Underwater archeology. Outside the agora there will be a section dedicated to marine archeology designed on two levels of monitors. In the upper part of the installation there will be images related to systems and technologies in collaboration with ARCHEOMAR, and in the lower part, there are interactive monitors with footage on the masterpieces rescued from the sea.
Scientific Area. The exhibition also continues with a section dedicated to the scientific area, with images that document the latest developments in the field of alternative energy, desalination, and a review of best practices in the field of biology and science.
Large Infrastructures. Lastly, a section will be devoted to major Italian infrastructures: from the Selex maritime traffic monitoring system to the works in the Panama Canal, from the mobile dams of the Mosè project in Venice, to the bridge over the Strait of Messina.
Near the exit, there is a space dedicated to EXPO MILANO 2015. As a representation of the best preview of Italy in the future is the installation, ?The Event Beyond?, the courtain dedicated to the representation and promotion of the universal exposition of Expo Milano 2015. Visitors will be enveloped by atmospheric lights and sounds that, as a "promise", will animate a curtain that covers the entire height of the walls of the Italian pavilion, creating the illusion of being in front of a symbolic inauguration of the event of the next universal expo.

Capitoline Museums- Lux in Arcana
march 2012
Reveal, narrate, respect: the design of the Lux in Arcana exhibit
The exhibit, Lux in Arcana, faces a unique challenge: to bring the priceless heritage of the Vatican Secret within the scenery of the Capitoline Museums. From an informative aspect, and from respect towards the documents exhibited, the project of the exhibit traces a strong and discreet result that translates into unity and linearity in its plan. A line in which documents, forming an ensemble, are revealed, opening a dialogue between exhibit and museum. Architecture, video scenography, multimedia devices, designs of the experience: as in a Renaissance workshop, Studio Visuale and Studio Tapiro have brought together different specific skills under one roof. The measures defining the elements of architecture in exhibits derive from the dimensions and relationships of museum spaces: the finishings of the surfaces meet the colors of the halls. The exhibit is largely comprised of stage sets and showcases. Their main function is to control the light, which is necessary to adequately protect the precious documents within the amount allowed by the standards of preservation. This design concept has made it possible to maintain the 50 lux required for preserving the documents, keeping the splendor of the Capitoline Museums unaltered.
Only in some cases was it necessary to shield works on permanent display. The showcases in which the works are exhibited are the result of a design process developed with the utmost respect for criteria of preservation and careful attention to visual ergonomics: specific efforts have been dedicated to defining the height and angle of the various reading surfaces, in order to make viewing easier for children and disabled visitors. The simultaneous communication of the multimedia devices allows access to multiple levels of reading during the same visit. The visitor is introduced to the themes of the various halls, thanks to the larger installations, such as video walls or large projections, while close to each document there are a number of monitors-stands that allow the visitor to further consult the contents. Animated reading tables make it possible to decode some of the most significant parts of the cultural heritage of the archive. Images of details on different scales replace the experience of physical contact. The use of technology, as well as the rhythm of the various video devices, has been calibrated so as not to interfere with the original documents and to ensure an edifying visit. 100 original documents, 1,000 square meters of graphics, 170 projectors and displays, more than 1,200 tables of animated reading. Giulia Abruzzese, Daniel Balcon, Giovanni Barbiero, Enrico Camplani, Tomaso Cariboni, Manola Cervesato, Alessia Ferraro, Christopher Daniel Homer, Massimiliano Musina, Carlotta Penso, Gianluigi Pescolderung, Francesco Pia, Gabriele Rivoli, and Marco Scapin all collaborated on the project
